Dear year 12 students and parents,
I am writing to inform you that this afternoon the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) released the following HSC specific update. For St Catherine’s students, it means the following:
Oral language examinations
Oral language examinations have been rescheduled and will now be held from 14 August to 18 September. NESA will publish the revised timetable on Monday 26 July.
Session dates, times and venues for oral language exams are being adjusted to limit contact between students from different schools in Greater Sydney.
Face masks must be worn at exam venues in Greater Sydney. At this stage, students can remove their mask during the examined conversation where perspex screens will be in place and there will be distance between the student and the examiner.
Ms Robertson, our head of languages will provide more specific information regarding the above arrangements early next week.
Major works
Student submission dates for major works have been extended as follows:
Drama (projects) – 30 August
Design and Technology – 2 September
English Extension 2 – 27 August
Music (projects) – 13 September
Visual Arts – 6 September
Drama
Drama performance exams have been rescheduled to run from 6 to 17 September. NESA will provide additional advice to schools, including the specific date of the examination towards the end of August.
Music
Music performance exams are continuing as scheduled, running from 30 August to 10 September. Again, NESA will provide schools with the exact date around mid August.
Written HSC exams
Written HSC examinations have been rescheduled to run from 19 October to 12 November. HSC results will now be released on 17 December.
As information from NESA continues to be released, I will keep you informed.
Kind regards,
Kylie McCullah
